Software Restore does not restore Mac OS X, iPhoto, iTunes, iChat, or iMovie. This includes the Mac OS 9 system software and the applications that came with your computer. Software Restore restores your computer’s original contents except Mac OS X. Here's the readme file from the first install CD: Maybe I need to run the 10.2 installer, and *then* the 9.2.2 installer? I guess I'll give that a try, even though I really don't want OSX on this computer at all. It's actually an OSX application! So unless you already have OSX 10.2 installed and running (I don't), I'm not sure how it's possible to use this to install 9.2.2. The trouble is that the 9.2.2 restore CD isn't a bootable CD. Wow, installing the iBook G3 version of 9.2.2 is more difficult than I expected! I found the install CD images here:
